This 62 member farmer group was established in 2000 in Ileje district of Mbeya region. Grown from 1,800 to +2,000 meters, the elevation, climate, and rich soil contents surrounding Bwenda's coffee farms allow it to be some of the best in all the Southern Highlands. After successfully receiving ownership of their own wet-mill in 2011, Bwenda Best approached Tembo for a start-up loan for repairs and working capital. Bwenda now expects to operate at full capacity, producing 20,000 kgs of fully washed parchment. In addition to its unique coffee, the community of Ileje is also known in the region for its tea, cinnamon, coriander, cocoa, bananas, and pineapples.
