Ngoma wetmill was originally built with assistance from a USAID program supporting the creation of a fully washed coffee market within Rwanda. The station has a very large capacity, operating a 3 ton/hr McKinnon disc pulper, washing channels, dry fermentation tanks and soaking tanks. The parchment is dried on raised beds for 15 - 22 days before dry milling. In 2013 Ngoma produced 60 tons of parchment, the largest production since inception in 2006.
